Unique: Ski Dubai is the only indoor snow resort in the region.

With the temperature increasing, children can escape the heat and develop their skiing skills at Ski Dubai’s Summer Camp.

The venue is the ultimate indoor snow resort and the only one in the Middle East region.

Fly high: There are snowboarding camps on offer.

With an amazing mountain-wintery setting and temperatures ranging from -1 to -20°C, Ski Dubai has become a prominent attraction for residents and visitors to the UAE.

There are separate camps for skiing and snowboarding which run in five-day sessions.

The skiing camps range from three to 13-years of age, while snowboarding is open for those aged between eight and 13.

Camps start on Sundays (August 9, 16, 23 and 30, and September 6), with the last day on Thursday that week.

Whether children have skied or snowboarded before, there are different categories to choose from – beginners, intermediate and advanced.

“The summer camps are run by certified instructors for skiing and snowboarding.

They are very intense and focused by the end of the week they will learn quite a lot on how to ski or snowboard,” said Sherif Hashem, senior marketing manager at Majid Al Futtaim, Ski Dubai.

The camps have been hugely popular with the Ramadan and Eid editions attracting a high number of youths. And Hashem insists this camp will be no different.

He said: “We have a lot of camps throughout the year whether it’s Christmas or spring. They are really good and that is why we are bringing them back every year.

Places were filled up for the Ramadan Camps which speaks for itself on how popular our camps are.”

No matter of what level of skier you are, Hashem insists it’s an opportunity not to be missed.

“It’s a perfect opportunity for children to learn a new hobby and to do something different over the summer,” he said. “Within five days, they can learn and be able to practice and hopefully come back and ski during the summer.

“Ski Dubai is the only place in the Middle East to learn skiing indoors and it’s a controlled and safe environment.”
