The ‘Ginger Magician’ is rightly known as one of the finest footballers in Manchester United history.

The Salfordborn star received high praise throughout, Barcelona icon Xavi saying he was “the best central midfielder I’ve seen in the last 15, 20 years”. Arsenal great Thierry Henry labelled him as the best player in EPL history. Scholes made 718 appearances for United, scoring 155 times.

His England career was less successful, retiring aged in 2004 after 66 games.
