  • Big win: UAE Polo (white) moved into the semis.

UAE Polo moved into the semi-finals of the fifth Bentley Emirates Dubai Polo Gold Cup thanks to a 10-4 win over Edrees Polo.

The victory means the tournament’s semi-final lineup has taken full shape with UAE Polo pushing themselves through to a clash with Habtoor Polo while Ghantoot ADCB and Desert Palm 2 make up the other last-four battle.

UAE Polo dominated, with the eventual winners taking an early and decisive 5-0 lead in the first chukka before Edrees Polo clawed a goal back in a tight second chukka, going into the half at 5-1.

The pressure from Edrees didn’t get to UAE Polo, who put their foot down in the final two chukkas, moving from 8-2 to a decisive 10-4 to book their semi-final place against Habtoor Polo on March 11.

Edrees Polo’s defeat helped Mahra qualify, who played in the second match of the day against Desert Palm 2, for the Power Horse Cup.

Despite the defeat against Desert Palm 2 by seven goals to five, Mahra will be playing the Power Horse Cup against Abu Dhabi.

The remaining match in the Subsidiary semi-finals will be played by Bin Drai and Desert Palm 1. Both games will be held tomorrow.
