The only Thoroughbred contest at Abu Dhabi last night, a 1,400m handicap, was won by the Satish Seemar-trained Royal Revival, ridden to glory in style by stable jockey Richard Mullen.
The pair denied Make It Reel, who himself only led briefly having finally fought his way past Mushir. Mullen’s mount was recording a third Abu Dhabi victory this season.

Mullen, leading the jockeys’ championship by six winners after this win, said: “He loves it around here and has enough speed for this trip.”
RB Torch made all in the best of the Purebred Arabian races, a 1,600m handicap, given a confident ride by Tadhg O’Shea, riding for
Salem Al Ketbi. This victory made it three wins from four career outings and once O’Shea sent his mount clear 400m out, his five rivals had no answer.
There were equally easy winners in both the opening two races with Hardy Hotger saddling Ben Seddiq to land the opening 1,400m maiden under Adrie De Vries. Unsuccessful in 15 previous career outings, De Vries’ mount clearly benefitted from the application of blinkers for the first time.
Winner of a 1,400m maiden on his debut a fortnight ago, the Musabah Al Muhairi-trained AF Mathmoon followed up in style in a handicap over the same course and distance.
Settled in midfield by Silvestre De Sousa, AF Mathmoon set off after the pack, leading halfway up the straight and surging clear.
The jockey was voicing similar sentiments after winning a 1,600m fillies and mares’ conditions race on Da’Areen, on whom he had won a 1,400m maiden only last week.
De Sousa, closing the gap on Mullen to five, said: “She won well last week but this is a better effort in a stronger race and she can go on from here.”
AK Adour won a 1,200m handicap under Oisin Murphy for Ahmed Al Mehairbi, before Royston Ffrench and Dameer W’Rsan won a 1,200m maiden for Bakhit Al Ketbi.
