    The England striker was restricted to just nine appearances in his debut season at Anfield, suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in one of his first training sessions under manager Jurgen Klopp.

    No injury ever comes at a good time, but it was only a matter of days after the Winchester-born forward had scored for the Reds against arch-rivals Everton in the Merseyside Derby.

    Ings is currently enjoying pre-season with the Kop giants and is expected to be back and raring to go again come the start of the season.
