  • Fine nine: Lycee (blue) girls win 9-0 to ensure 9th win on the bounce.

Lonefei Tetaut’s hat-trick helped Lycee Francais International George Pompidou (LFIGP) Under- 16s maintain their perfect record with a 9-0 win in the Dubai Schools Football Cup yesterday.

The victory over Dubai Arab American School puts them on top of Group A in the girls’ category, with 27 points, six clear of secondplaced Dubai International School (Garhoud).

Tetaut said: “I’m happy that I scored three goals today although they weren’t amazing goals.

“We played well as a team but could’ve scored more goals. It was a team effort and every single player contributed.”

In the Under-13s category, St Mary’s Catholic High School beat Dubai Arab American School 5-0 to maintain their 100 per cent record.

Elsewhere in the boys’ under- 15s, Sabis Choueifat will be the only team in next week’s last-16 stage with a perfect record after wins over Rashid Al Saleh Private School (2-0) and Sharjah American School of Dubai (4-0).

Meanwhile, Ayman El Fatih of Dubai International School (Al Qouz) under-15 boys’ team met his Manchester United heroes on Friday in Dubai after winning a competition describing what the tournament meant to him.

El Fatih said: “I have been waiting for this moment all my life. I told Ashley Young and Danny Welbeck that I am a loyal fan and I support them all the way.”
