  • Brain power: Cambridge international with their Battle of the Brains trophy.

Cambridge International School won ‘The Battle of the Brains’ Inter-School Sports Quiz Competition, while American School of

    Dubai were the runners-up.

A total of eight schools competed in the competition where Cambridge International, Delhi Private School (DPS) Dubai, DPS Sharjah and American School of Dubai made it to the final four stage.

A selection of challenging questions ranging from football, rugby, tennis, golf, basketball and baseball were put to the students.

The event was sponsored by E-Sports and their affiliates – Clark Francis Tennis, E-Sports Football Academy, Professional Investment Consultants – with Virgin Radio as the media partner.

Gareth Mordey, chief operating officer at E-Sports, said: “E-Sports are excited to be involved in this event due to the unique format matched with our belief in sports education in the classroom as well as on the pitch, in the pool or on the court.

“We look forward to the next Battle of the Brains and hope to see even more students interested in sport becoming involved.”

The aim of the quiz was to increase the students’ interest in and knowledge of sport, with the hope of them not only participating in school sports activities, but also undertaking sports as a hobby outside of school.

The judging panel included UAE-based Olympic swimmer Velimir Stjepanovic, while Priti Malik of the Kris Fade morning show hosted the competition.
