It was a busy week for the Sheffield Private School with both their football and netball teams in action.

In preparations for the netball season ahead, the Under-14 and U-16 sides competed in a pre-season tournament at Sharjah’s Victoria International School with both sets of players putting on some impressive performances.

The Under-16 were one point from winning the competition but had to settle for third due to goal difference.

But the efforts did not go unnoticed as Francesca Reyes, for her excellent shooting, and Nuha Khaja Mir, who showed great vision and creativity, claimed the Player of the Tournament awards.

The Under-14s also impressed, particularly Nigar Azizova, who was awarded Player of the Tournament as they finished sixth overall.

Meanwhile, their Under-14 football team were held to 1-1 draw by Bradenton Preparatory School as the Dubai Affiliated School Sports Association (DASSA) season began.

It was a closely-fought game but Islam Yasser put on a strong show to be named Player of the Match.

There were also encouraging performances from the Under-10 and Under-12 boys teams in their preseason EISSA tournament at Australian International School.

The Under-10s finished fifth while the Under-12s claimed fourth with Mark Shehab and Adyann Asif earning the top individual awards.
