The third and final race of the Go Sport Sharbatly Fruit Aquathlon Series welcomes swimmers and runners from across the UAE for one final chance to take part in the popular event this season.
Sanctioned by the Dubai Sports Council and Nakheel, the race will take place at Fairmont The Palm, Dubai on Saturday, April 25.
With three distances offered for various levels, the event is perfect for all ages. The Junior Super Sprint for ages 12 and younger will be a 200 metre swim followed by a 2.5km run, while older competitors in the Super Sprint will swim 375m and run 2.5km. The longer Sprint will feature a 750m swim and 5km run.
For racers wanting to push themselves to the limit, there is the Olympic category with a 1.5km swim and 10km run. You can also race as a relay team in any of the three categories.
Warren van der Merwe, race organiser for Super Sports Events, said: “For race three we hope to attract around 200 athletes again. Fairmont The Palm with its calm waters and adjacent running track under the monorail has been wellliked by all competitors so we look forward to them returning to bettaketer their times and performance”.
Along with winning in the respective categories, competitors can also win valuable prizes from Fairmont The Palm, including spa treatments, one-night stays, restaurant vouchers and family beach passes.
“With this being the final race of the season for the Aquathlon, we look forward to seeing old and new competitors join us on the morning. We are delighted to support the community with this Aquathlon series which is in line with our focus on working closer with the community and contributing to its health and wellness” said Kamal Khalil, director of Spa and Recreation at Fairmont The Palm.
All registered racers will receive timing, a medal and certificate, a goody bag and refreshments.
