Alistair Overeem was left hung out to dry by UFC commentator Joe Rogan.
Having just been battered into the realms of unconsciousness by Miocic, barely able to get back on his stool post-fight, the confused Dutchman was convinced he’d felt a tap from the champ early in the fight.
When Rogan pressed for a review on the big screen it was clear that wasn’t the case yet he asked for a second look amid the cacophony of boos. Rightly, Rogan has called for a change in policy when it comes to interviewing fighters if they’ve been KO’d.
One star diminished but another illuminated. Mickey Gall, with just two professional fights, has been able to manufacture a meeting with a former WWE superstar, win, and then immediately cut a brilliant promo to take out another big name.
The 24-year-old called out Sage Northcutt – a fellow young fighter with plenty of hype surrounding him – and it’s clear Gall gets what the fight game is all about.

Urijah Faber has for a long time been a fan’s favourite. But having dropped a rare non-title fight three-round decision to Jimmie Rivera, many are questioning whether his time is up.
