Outside of America it is a little known fact that NBA superstar Kobe Bryant speaks fluent Italian, which means he is a joy to interview for Spanish press (basketball being popular in Spain and Spanish being a very close to Italian).
These linguistic skills are a result of his father moving his family to Italy (where he was a professional basketball player) when Kobe was just seven.
After taking to the floor as an NBA player for the final time, one particular Spanish reporter asked Bryant several questions about the future of the LA Lakers, all of which the star reflected superbly, with comic precision.
