  • As the Dubai winter draws to a close and temperatures begin to rise, attention turns to indoor sport and the summer months prove especially popular for squash. EliteSquash Middle East, now under new management, has been re-branded as it aims to raise the standards of squash players in the region thanks to specialised and advanced training techniques.

The company provides finely tailored instruction and coaching for all levels, which includes a detailed movement screening and a personal functional program to bring easier court coverage and reduce potential injuries. Also on offer are group lessons designed around the abilities and needs of all players and ensure a fun and relaxed environment with a clear focus on progression each week. Coaches combine specific drills, movement routines and games to help players grow in confidence on the court. EliteSquash Middle East also delivers coaching to national teams and clubs.

The firm is the brainchild of founder Hadrian Stiff, who brings to the table20 years of coaching experience with a track record of training elite-level players including world champion Mohamed El Shorbagy, and Joelle King. As a player, Stiff won various competitions himself including the Italian Open and New York Open, and was ranked in the world’s top 50 players. Also on the books are professional squash coaches Salman Hashmi, Muhammad Wassem and Dawar Shahid.

Setting itself apart from the competition, EliteSquash Middle East also offers the services of a therapist. Richard Palfrey’s skillset expands across multiple genres in the fields of health and fitness. A former military man, he has split his time between businesses in the Middle East and the UK for the last ten years. Palfrey works with individuals on a highly specific basis to achieve their goals alongside the delivery of beneficial knowledge and practices that will contribute to their longer-term health, fitness and biomechanics.

The club and its coaches operate out of various venues across Dubai including the Aviation Club, the Steigenberger Hotel, Emirates Golf Club and Madinat Jumeirah Resort. EliteSquash originated in the UK, with its main hub located in Bristol. Over the last 20 years the feeder club has used its knowledge and expertise to build a network of locations across the UK and now Dubai.
