100 of the Most Influential Women in Sport >> Arabs

    Raha Moharrak, Saudi Arabia

    Mountaineer

Jeddah-born mountaineer Raha Moharrak carved her name on the edifice of history after scaling mount Everest in 2013, becoming the youngest Arab and the only Saudi female to have conquered the peak. The 33-year-old then went on to conquer the remaining six of the seven summits and was instantly catapulted to fame. Her message is an important one: regardless of any perceived barrier, you can use the doubt as energy to power your ambition. Moharrak describes herself as a graphic designer by trade and a mountain climber by passion. That fire is what makes her such an inspiration to women everywhere, how ironic it was achieved by climbing through sub-zero temperatures.
