  • Ras Al Khaimah is a stunning location

We are just over 40 days away from one of the running highlights of the year – The RAK Half Marathon.

A picturesque course coupled with it being super-flat make it a great event for the less-experienced runner, while also offering a quick route for those searching for a personal best over the distance.

However, the weekend shouldn’t just be about the run – while you are in Ras Al Khaimah take time to enjoy some of the fantastic sights in the emirate.

Here are some of best places to check out – but don’t just take our word for it, this is what people have been saying about these great attractions on Trip Advisor.

    Jebel Jais

“Amazing sunset view. Very good driving experience. Excellent day out with families. Enjoyed the evening.”

“We went and did the world’s longest zipline on Christmas day and wow, a Christmas day never to be forgotten. Memories are made of this. Great safety so be brave. Just do it”

“Awesome spot to drive up with friends and enjoy the beautiful scenery and activities offered. We came with our supercars – the road up the mountain is epic!!”

    Ras Al Khaimah National Museum

“Full of history and archeological displays. A guided tour is must to understand the ancient findings from RAK.”

“This is a good place to go and see all the art and historical items of the museum to understand the culture. The museum is well maintained and organised. We will come back.”

“What an amazing museum in Ras al Khaimah. l really enjoyed my visit here, and l am going to come back and bring more friends as l think they would really enjoy learning more about Ras al Khaimah. Lovely and very interesting.”

    Fortress Al Jazeera Al Hamra

“The abandoned village is extremely beautiful, especially to those who appreciate historic buildings and early settlements. This was the early fishing village that existed in the UAE before the discovery of oil. The best way to experience this place would be to walk around or drive through in a 4-wheeler.”

“If in the Al Hamra area, this is a must see; an entire small town including houses and two mosques, totally deserted. The crumbling walls reveal construction using large chunks of coral. Clearly evidence of a bygone era.”

“A lot of history behind this place, nice to walk around and see what’s left of this little ghost town, all the houses made from coral. Some of the areas have an eerie feeling about them, one of my favorite places to take a road trip to and a little adventure.”
