  • Will Orton and Wyatt dominate the WWE?

As is so often the case with Randy Orton, one swift RKO ‘Outta Nowhere’ changed the entire landscape of WWE this week.

In recent weeks he has allied with Kane to take on Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper in what has been a bitter rivalry between the two main protagonists – Orton and Wyatt.

But on this week’s SmackDown LIVE, Orton turned the tables on his team-mate and handed Wyatt the upper hand.

An RKO to Kane caused mass hysteria and Orton’s “if you can’t beat them, join them” comment at the end of the night set up a tantalising shift.

If Orton is indeed to side with the Wyatts, it is the stable’s biggest coup since they briefly brought Daniel Bryan on board.

And played right, this storyline has equal potential to garner great interest and serve up weeks of great plots and matches.

Now, it must be made clear that Orton’s comments may well be a ruse but if that’s the case then the events this week would be hugely surprising.

There is a possibility that Orton could be siding with the team to infiltrate the camp and then destroy it from within, a plot that definitely has legs and would be fascinating to watch unfold as he aims to divide and conquer the Wyatt Family.

Orton instantly strengthens his position alongside the Eater of Worlds and the pair can genuinely take apart any of the WWE locker room, especially with the aid of Harper.

Both have been playing up their oddity and mystique in recent weeks and that should only increase in the ensuing months with Orton and Wyatt able to make life a misery for all in their path.

Kane will be the obvious first target and taking him out of action will be a show of power as well as their united front come next week’s show.

WWE Creative will likely play out their harmony for now which will only serve the Blue Brand well.

Inevitably there will be another turn and Orton will surely break free of the shackles, a prospect that the intervening months can tease while the new addition and his comrades lay waste to those before them.

What is key is that the WWE don’t allow the newly formed Wyatts to lose momentum; they must be destroying opponents with the same authority and regularity of The Shield.

Such dominance builds up all of the Superstars going over and will make that eventual turn even more significant and any future bout between Wyatt and Orton even more of a spectacle worthy of a grand stage and a push that will engage the WWE Universe.

All-in-all, the WWE has found an intriguing way to breathe life into a storyline that has failed to capture the imagination thus far. For now, they have captured the attention at the very least.
