Nico Rosberg did the practice double, finishing on top in second sesson before the Bahrain Grand Prix.
After dominating the first sesson Mercedes retained their second-long cushion to their next rivals as Rosberg’s time of 1:31.001 on the supersoft tyre saw him stay ahead of team-mate Lewis Hamilton.
One shock on the day was the improved pace of the McLaren car, as Jenson Button finished in third.
