Wuhan, China — The players have been busy here at the Wuhan Open, taking part in lots of activities, from school visits to bike rides in the park to Callisthenics sessions… with pom poms!
The Premier 5 WTA tournament is in its third year and organisers have done their best to engage the players in community events to develop interest for tennis throughout the city of Wuhan.
This is Li Na’s hometown and while the Chinese two-time major champion wasn’t able to fulfill her ambassadorial duties for the tournament this week because her second baby is on the way, her presence is felt all over the venue here at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center – posters of her are literally everywhere.
