Barcelona’s new Japanese winger Hiroki Abe spoke for the first time since completing his €1.1 million move to the Spanish club.

Abe signed from Kashima Antlers of the J1 League and will initially play for the reserve team, which plays in Spanish Segunda B third-tier league.

The 20-year-old Abe signed a four-year deal with a buyout clause of €40m, which could rise to €100m if the player is promoted to the first team.

The winger is tipped to be Japan’s big football star at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Antoine Griezmann trained with his new Barcelona team-mates for the first time on Monday after last week’s big-money move from Atletico Madrid.

The 28-year-old looked delighted to be involved and could not keep the smile from his face as his new colleagues gave him a very warm welcome in Barcelona.

Griezmann ran through a tunnel of players and took part in a light training session with the new signing at one point struggling to snatch the ball back in a game – he then fell on his back laughing.

The striker signed for Barcelona after Atletico met his €120 million buyout clause.

Griezmann will wear the number 17 shirt at his new club.

Antoine Griezmann declared he is looking to become a “key player” as he was unveiled at Barcelona on Sunday.

The 28-year-old striker moved to the Camp Nou this week from Atletico Madrid after the Catalans met his €120million buy-out clause.

He was unveiled at the club’s stadium at a press conference on Sunday evening and the France international spoke about his intention to make an impact at Barcelona.

“A new challenge. I will try to challenge myself. Not to feel too comfortable but rather go out there to try to find my own place,” said the French World Cup winner.

“To become a starting player and become a key player in a new great club. And to try to win La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League. What is left for me to have in my trophies shelf.”
