  • Newly promoted Granada are at the top of La Liga’s table after El Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid was postponed last weekend.

Granada, who are well and truly punching above their weight, having played one game more as Barca’s meeting with Real Madrid – which was scheduled to take place last Friday – was postponed following recent political unrest in the Catalonian region.

Second-placed Barcelona, who are one point behind Granada, play Real Valladolid at Camp Nou on Tuesday night.

And Barca coach Ernesto Valverde has noted the need for his side to their find a ‘rhythm’ after their patchy schedule.

“Between our two regular breaks in October and November we had the Champions League matches and this postponed one (El Clasico),” he said,

“We know the tension that comes attached to it, but in the end we didn’t play it. We must now try to get back in rhythm with La Liga. We must win these next three points, because the other teams added points and we didn’t.”
