Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner faced off for the final time at their weigh-in that drew a few thousand boxing fans to the MGM Grand Garden Arena, prior to their welterweight championship bout on Saturday night.

Pacquiao – the 40-year-old reigning WBA welterweight champion – tipped the scales at 146 pounds while Broner weighed in at 146 1/2 pounds.

They’ll fight for the WBA world welterweight title Pacquiao won by knocking out Argentina’s Lucas Matthysse (39-5, 36 KOs, 1 NC) in the seventh round of his last fight, July 15 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Pacquiao said he wants to prove that he still has the ability to be effective despite turning 40 last month.

“I’m happy to be back here and happy to fight tomorrow night,” Pacquiao said. “Forty is just a number, it doesn’t matter that I’m 40 years old – I feel young. Tomorrow I have something to prove: that at 40 I can still be at my best … I want to prove that Manny Pacquiao is still there.”
