    Captain Eoin Morgan admitted fate was on England’s side as the hosts the lifted the 2019 World Cup title after a dramatic Super Over against New Zealand at Lord’s on Sunday.

    Both England and New Zealand were tied on runs after completion of 100 overs and even two Super Overs. England prevailed on number of boundaries hit.

    After the match when asked if Morgan – born in Ireland – had luck of the Irish going for him, the skipper said he was also assured by team-mate Adil Rashid that ‘Allah was on their side’.

    “We had Allah with us as well, I spoke to Adil he said Allah was definitely with us,” Morgan said. “And I said we had the rub of the green. You know… it actually epitomises our team its quite diverse backgrounds and cultures and guys grow up in different countries.”
