The Little Master, who retired from international cricket in 2013, scored 100 centuries combined across Test and one-day internationals and notched up over 30,000 runs in total.
He was part of the victorious Indian team that won the ICC Cricket World Cup on home soil in 2011 and is adored by over a billion people from his country – and millions more around the world.
Indeed, he celebrated his birthday by playing street cricket with children at the MIG Club in his home city of Mumbai.
