Half centuries from skipper Virat Kohli (59) and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant (65 not out) allowed India to complete a 3-0 whitewash over West Indies in their T20 series in Guyana on Tuesday.
Following two comfortable victories in Florida, USA at the weekend, India easily chased down a target of 147 in the final match with seven wickets and 5 balls to spare.
Earlier, Kieron Pollard’s 58 and a swashbuckling 32 from Rovman Powell formed the backbone of the home side’s total of 146-6, which looked competitive until Kohli and Pant got together to put on 107 for the third wicket inside 13 overs.
Pant hit the winning runs with his fourth six, but on a batsman’s day, Deepak Chahar’s figures of 3-1-4-3 with the ball earned him the player of the match award.
A three-game ODI series between the two teams begins on Thursday at the same venue.
