If there were an official Premier League award for signing of the season, this season’s contest would be over already. Mohamed Salah could claim the trophy this week and no one would bat an eyelid.
The Egyptian added another feather to his cap with a goal on his Merseyside derby debut, although it wasn’t enough to inspire Liverpool to victory. But the goal meant Salah has now scored or assisted in 12 of Liverpool’s 16 league games.
He also remains the league’s top scorer this season, a feat not many would have predicted before the league campaign kicked off.
