  • Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic believes Paul Pogba’s future remains in at Old Trafford, but admits that “everything is possible” in football.

The Premier League’s transfer window closes before the start of the new Premier League season on Thursday and the Frenchman was left out of United’s final pre-season warm-up game of the season against AC Milan in Cardiff on Saturday.

The midfielder was said to be feeling a little pain by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, although reports prior to the game suggested Pogba had refused to travel to the Welsh capital in a bid to force through a late move away from Old Trafford.

“I knew that you were going to ask me that (laughing),” said Serbian midfielder Matic when asked after the game about Pogba’s future.

“Of course, he’s a great player, very important for the team, and we will see what’s going to happen. He is a Manchester United player and of course we will be happy if he stays. And I don’t see that he’s going to leave. But in football everything is possible.”
