Jurgen Klopp hailed a special victory after his Liverpool side extended their Premier League lead to 11 points with a tough 2-1 win over Brighton.
The hosts went 2-0 up at Anfield after two first-half goals from centre-back Virgil Van Dijk but had to endure a nervy finish after some late drama.
Goalkeeper Alisson Becker was shown a straight red card in the 77th minute after he deliberately handled the ball outside the box. From the resulting free-kick, Lewis Dunk pulled one back for Brighton with a cleverly slotted finish that caught Adrian off-guard.
Though the visitors made a late push for an equaliser, 10-man Liverpool held on for all three points. The win extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 11 points after Manchester City were held to a 2-2 draw by Newcastle.
