  • Pep Guardiola has conceded that it is ‘unrealistic’ for Manchester City to think about Liverpool after his men fell to a 3-2 defeat to Wolves.

The defending champions were already feeling the heat before their trip to Wolves, and their woes were compounded early into the game after goalkeeper Ederson Moraes was shown a straight red card.

Despite the early setback, City stormed into the lead through a Raheem Sterling goal, with the English winger doubling his tally five minutes into the second period.

However, a spirited Wolves comeback in the second half saw the defending champions turned over, with Matt Doherty bagging the winning goal in injury time.

The fifth loss of the season has left Guardiola’s men in third spot in the league table, and they are now 14 points off leaders Liverpool who also have a game in hand.

See what Guardiola had to say after City’s fifth loss of the campaign in the video posted above.
