  • Raheem Sterling scored less than three minutes into his Manchester City debut as the English side beat Italy's AS Roma 5-4 on penalties in Melbourne, Australia on Tuesday in the International Champions Cup.

All eyes were on Raheem Sterling as he donned City's sky blue for the first time, when his new club took on Roma in the International Champions Cup.

And the striker wasted no time in making his presence felt – beating the offside trap to score in the third minute.

City's lead was short-lived, though – Bosnian midfielder Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic with a stunning effort from distance.  The two sides headed into half-time with one apiece, but City started the second half the brighter.

It took teenager Kelechi Iheanacho just six minutes to restore City's lead, after he took advantage of Ashley Cole's misjudged backpass.

But Roma weren't giving up. Three minutes from time, Adem Ljajic restored parity to force a penalty shoot-out.

With the scores still level, and after taking a penalty of his own, Joe Hart became the hero when he saved Seydou Keita's effort in sudden death.
