Former Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes has praised Marco Asensio after his outstanding form for club and country this season.
Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane and Spain head coach Julen Lopetegui have both put faith in the 21-year-old and are reaping the awards from his outstanding talents.
With Asensio firing effectively thanks to the services of Isco and Toni Kroos, Morientes is expecting big things from the ace striker.
“It is extremely rare to find a player as talented as Asensio,” Morientes told Sport360.
“This could happen once in a decade. There is huge expectation on the player but I’m convinced he has the talent and will fulfil his expectations.”
Asensio has enjoyed a stunning start to the season, scoring four goals in Madrid’s opening six games.
Although he missed last week’s Champions League win against APOEL due to injury, the Spaniard returned to action in Real Madrid’s 1-0 defeat to Real Betis on Wednesday.
