  • Gareth Bale, Ben Davies and David Brooks won accolades at the Football Association of Wales (FAW) Awards on Thursday.

Real Madrid forward Bale claimed the Players’ Player of the Year award for the first time, to add to his six Player of Year awards he won between 2010 and 2016.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies won the Media Choice Awards, his first accolade from the FAW.

Bournemouth’s David Brooks capped a memorable 12 months by being named Welsh Player of the Year and Young Player of the year, the first Welsh player to win both awards in a single year.

Brooks made his competitive Wales debut in the 4-1 Nations League defeat of the Republic of Ireland in September and has become a first-team regular under manager Ryan Giggs.

Brooks has become the first player to win both Player and Young Player of the Year.
