  • Brazil were held to a 1-1 draw by Panama as the two nations contested an international friendly in Porto, Portugal on Saturday.

Lucas Paqueta put the ‘Selecao’ ahead in the 32nd minute, captain Casemiro with the assist, but Panama levelled four minutes later through Adolfo Machado and held on for a creditable draw.

It was the first goal Panama have ever scored against Brazil in what was the two nations’ sixth meeting.

After the match, Brazil head coach Tite admitted that it was “a bad result” for his team.

However, Tite insisted that a below-par performance was to be expected as tries to freshen up his squad: “Everyone wants to win and play well, but it would be surprising if we could give a spectacle at this stage of rebuilding the team.”

Brazil will now head to Prague, where they will play Czech Republic on Tuesday in their final warm-up match ahead of the 2019 Copa America.
