  • Manchester City and England star forward Raheem Sterling was awarded with The Integrity and Impact Award at the BT Sport Industry Awards in London on Thursday.

The award recognises Sterling’s contribution in the fight against racism within football, his maturity as a role model and his frequent calls for more to be done to deter racial abuse within the game.

Former Arsenal and England international Alex Scott praised the influence of Sterling and called for others to speak out against injustices that are experienced.

Gareth Southgate presented Sterling with the prize and the England head coach was part of a delegation which received the Leadership in Sport Award.

Southgate picked up the trophy alongside both Martin Glenn and Mark Bullingham, respectively the outgoing and incoming Football Association Chief Executives.
