  • Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo said on Monday that he wanted to bring players to “add quality to the squad” in the “out of normal” transfer market.

He also dismissed suggestions his team will challenge for a top-six finish.

Wolves are in Shanghai preparing for their Premier League Asia Trophy opener against Newcastle United in Nanjing on Wednesday.

Manchester City and West Ham United are also taking part in the tournament which is being played across two locations – Nanjing and Shanghai.

Conor Coady, Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho and Diogo Jota are among the travelling party for Wolves, while Raul Jimenez has been allowed some extra time off after winning the Nations League with Portugal.

Premier League winners City had their flight cancelled twice on Saturday and Sunday due to “unforeseen administrative issue”.
