  • Pepe comes to Arsenal's rescue.

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery was all praise for Nicolas Pepe after the substitute thumped two stunning free-kicks in the dying minutes to help overcome Vitoria SC by 3-2.

The Gunners trailed by 1-2 in the UEFA Europa League clash when Pepe replaced Alexandre Lacazette in the 75th minute. The winger made an instant impact by burying a free-kick to level the scores before pulling off an even better one in injury time to seal a come-from-behind victory at London.

“Pepe is a very good player, we believe in him totally. Also that way he’s doing, sometimes it feels better, sometimes he has more difficulties on the pitch depending on the opposition. But he’s improving, tonight those two goals are very important for us and for him,” Emery said after the clash.
