After starring in an impressive 3-1 win over the Rest of the World at Old Trafford, in a charity 'Match for Children' on behalf of UNICEF, David Beckham who also organised the game; took to the media to express his delight at being apart of the good cause.

The game saw the former England legend team up with former Manchester United teammates Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Phil Neville and Paul Scholes, while former Galactico' Luis Figo rivalled him with his own striking lineup, which included Brazil legends Ronaldinho and Cafu. Despite a host of world class talent on show, it was the moment David Beckham substituted himself off in place of his 16-year old son Brooklyn that stole the show. Before Beckham joined him on the pitch and combining with his son, to set up Michael Owen for his second of the night.

In what proved to be a sell-out game, thousands of fans watched on from the terraces as the deadlock was broken, when Paul Scholes stepped up to guide a delightful header into the back of net, before Michael Owen followed up with two of his own. The Rest of the World managed to grab a consolation goal back, thanks to a strike from Dwight Yorke which made it 3-1 but the damage was already done and Beckham's Great Britain and Ireland XI finished the game with a victory.

The ex-Paris Saint-Germain right midfielder also reflects on Friday's deadly attacks in Paris after captaining Great Britain and Ireland to a 3-1 win over a Rest of the World side at Old Trafford. The midfielder described the scenes in France as "devastating", before offering his support to those involved, along with the rest of the players who turned out for the UNICEF charity match, last night.
