  • The Under Armour Fitness Challenge returned with a bang this year for Dubai 30×30 and brought together a band of committed men and women who showed off their strength and brawn through a host of extremely strenuous training challenges.

This year’s Under Armour fitness challenge promised to be the toughest set of challenges to date and lived up to that proclamation.

The tailor-made course, created in partnership with Inner Fight, was set up at the iconic Kite Beach and was designed to test the participants on their agility, strength and endurance – pushing even the fittest and the most tenacious contenders to their limits.

From legless rope climb to enduring sub-zero temperature, the performance of every single athlete left the crowd in absolute awe.

Besides the satisfaction of successfully finishing the challenges, the jubilant first-place winners walked away with amazing prizes, including a 12-month Under Armour sponsorship, a Dh1,500 voucher each month and a weekend for two with Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts.

The first-place winner of the women’s competition, Emily Webb was ecstatic and looked forward to being part of the fitness challenge next year.

“It was an amazing event, really varied and a test of all fitness,” she said.

“I am definitely going to do this again next year. This has been an amazing day for me. There was a lot of functional fitness required for the challenges. It got us to think outside of the box and of course, have fun in the competition.”

Olivia Kidd took second and with it a six-month Under Armour sponsorship while Anouk Garnier rounded out the top-three and earned a three-month sponsorship.

The winner of the men’s competition, Salem Mohammed Al Ali echoed Webb’s sentiments and loved every testing moment.

“The atmosphere and energy of this place is amazing. I am so happy I finished first in this competition,” said Al Ali who finished ahead of Mohamed Elmoda and Alex Millington.

All participants proved their mettle in the competition and have set a very high bar for next year’s challenges.
