Croatia trained and spoke to the media in Rijeka on Friday, on the eve of their final Euro 2020 Group E qualifier against Slovakia.
Zlatko Dalic’s side are in the driving seat, two points clear of Hungary and four ahead of Saturday’s opponents at Stadion Rujevica, although Slovakia do have a game in hand.
History is on Croatia’s side though – they have never lost a European Championship qualifier on home soil, a record that spans 34 matches over 25 years.
And in the reverse fixture in September in Trnava, Slovakia were thumped 4-0.
The only thing that might prevent them from booking their place at Euro 2020 on Saturday is the weather – storms are predicted for the region and there is a risk that the game could be called off.
