Delhi Capitals’ impressive start to the 2020 Indian Premier League continued on Monday, with Shreyas Iyer and his men registering an emphatic 59-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in Dubai.

Excellent knocks from Marcus Stoinis and Prithvi Shaw set up a mammoth total of 196-4 for Delhi, before Kagiso Rabada’s four wickets closed out a comprehensive win against RCB.

Young Shaw set the early tone with a brisk 42, though it was a 26-ball 53 from Stoinis at the death that helped Delhi really build on that early momentum. It was a bad day in the office for RCB pacer Navdeep Saini who leaked 48 runs in just three overs for his side.

Delhi’s spinners Ravi Ashwin and Axar Patel removed the RCB openers early as Virat Kohli’s men attempted a steep run chase. The early blows were decisive before a rampaging Rabada and his South African compatriot Anrich Nortje caused further damage.

Rabada snared four wickets including that of Kohli, while Nortje chipped in with a couple of scalps. Delhi’s fourth victory in five matches propels them to the top of the table while RCB remain in third spot after suffering the second loss of their campaign.
