Delhi Capitals’ impressive campaign in the 2020 Indian Premier League continued, with Shreyas Iyer and his men reclaiming the top spot with another emphatic win.

Delhi were simply too good for Rajasthan Royals in Sharjah as they dished out a 46-run defeat to Steve Smith’s men. Shimron Hetmyer’s brisk 45-run knock was at the forefront of Delhi’s victory and helped them register a challenging total of 184-8 after a flurry of early wicket.

That total proved to be a mountain too high for Rajasthan’s batsmen as they folded tamely for a total of only 138 runs. There was no big knock from either Jos Buttler or Smith, with Delhi’s bowlers maintaining their grip with some disciplined bowling.

Kagiso Rabada helped himself to three more wickets, though it was Ravi Ashwin who was the real star of the Delhi bowling attack. The veteran off-spinner claimed two big wickets, including that of dangerman Buttler.

The win was Delhi’s fifth in six games in the UAE, while Rajasthan slumped to a fourth successive loss.
