A sensational innings from skipper Virat Kohli was the highlight of 2020 Indian Premier League’s Saturday double-header.

Kohli’s unbeaten 90 propelled Royal Challengers Bangalore to a fighting total of 169-4 on a slow Dubai pitch, and it proved to be a challenge too far for Chennai Super Kings’ ageing line-up.

MS Dhoni and his men could only muster 132-8 in reply, with their growing inability to chase any total coming to the fore once again. Chris Morris claimed three wickets on his franchise debut for RCB while also effecting a run-out off.

In the other clash of the day, Kolkata Knight Riders squeezed out a narrow victory for the second match in a row. Two runs proved to be the difference between victory and defeat as Kings XI Punjab slumped to yet another loss.

Six runs were required off the final delivery for KXIP to force the match into a Super Over, but Maxwell’s big hit fell just inches short of the boundary ropes.
