Brazil head coach Tite has given his say on comparisons between compatriot Pele and Argentina magician Lionel Messi.
On the 50th anniversary of Pele’s record 1,000th career goal, Tite was asked to give his thoughts on how the Brazilian legend compared to Messi.
While declaring Messi as an extraordinary player, the Selecao head coach expressed his belief that Pele was incomparable to any human player.
More recently, Tite and Messi had been involved in a small altercation during a friendly clash between Brazil and Argentina in Riyadh. Following a foul committed by Messi, the Brazilian coach had urged the referee to brandish a yellow card.
That had led the Argentine to tell Tite to ‘shut up’, according to the Brazilian’s post-match press conference.
