  • David Lama won the European Championship in bouldering in 2007.

Twenty-five-year-old Australian David Lama is one of the world’s leading climbers and Trans World Sport gains a unique insight into his world.

Situated 75km outside Lebanon’s captial Beirut is the Baatara Gorge. Follow Lama’s latest adventure as he takes on the breathtaking 300ft skinhole that exists at the epicentre of the rock formation.

“If you only travel on roads that have already been discovered then you are always just following,” he said. “But if you go somewhere where no one’s ever been then you are a leader and that’s something I really like.”

With that kind of attitude it’s no wonder that Lama doesn’t work a nine-to-five desk job!
