Singing Kelly Murphy was recording her descent using a selfie stick as she sped down the Japanese mountain but she did not realise the wild animal had been tracking her, and growling.
Fortunately, the bear didn’t manage to catch up but it did gather pace and get close at various points during the video.
The snowboarder only realised that the bear was in hot pursuit of her when she looked back at her footage after getting off the snow.
