  • New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady admits it’s hard to imagine “doing anything else” as he prepares to enter his 20th season in the National Football League, aged 41.

Brady turns 42 on Saturday and is entering his 20th season with New England. He led the Patriots to their sixth NFL title since 2001 season back in February, when they beat the LA Rams 13-3 in the lowest-scoring Super Bowl ever.

Brady took time out of training camp to speak to the media on Wednesday, where he talked about his hunger to carry on playing as well as being without team-mate Rob Gronkowski in 2019.

This year Brady will have to get used to a new tight end, as five-time Pro Bowler Gronkowski retired after nine seasons.

Asked if he still enjoys playing, Brady said: “Yeah, absolutely. I have a great time, I mean football is – I love the sport.

“I’ve loved playing it since I was a kid. You know, it’s hard for me to imagine doing anything else in life. I love playing ball, so to still be out here at 41 – soon to be 42 – it’s a pretty great thing for me.”
