  • Tom Brady claims the New England Patriots’ offense needs to improve after their defense shone in an edgy 16-10 win over the Buffalo Bills to improve the Super Bowl champions’ record to 4-0 this season.

Patriots linebacker Jamie Collins forced Buffalo’s fourth turnover by intercepting backup QB Matt Barkley’s pass with 1:27 remaining to seal New England’s win on Sunday.

New England are off to their first 4-0 start since 2015, and fifth time during Bill Belichick’s 20 seasons as coach.

Though Brady didn’t play much of a factor, he upped his career record to 31-3 against Buffalo – extending the NFL career mark for most victories by a quarterback against one opponent. New England won their sixth straight game against the Bills, and improved to 34-5 against Buffalo since the start of the 2000 season.

Speaking about the Bills’ defense making life hard for Brady and Co, the veteran said: “You know, I don’t think field position to me, doesn’t matter that much. Wherever we start, we start.

“We still have to move the ball for points. So, we just didn’t do a very good job, I would say, of consistently doing the right thing against a really good defense, that certainly plays well at home, but it’s good to win.

“Whether we win 45-40, or 45-3 or whatever it was, say 16-10, they all count the same. We just have to figure out how to do a better job on offense. Defense, I know they’re going to play great. They’re playing great all season long, and try to score more points than we did today.”
