Gareth Bale appeared in a jovial mood on Friday as he laughed and joked with his Real Madrid teammates less than 72 hours after displaying a banner that read “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In That Order.”
Bale played in both of Wales’ European qualifiers this past week, providing an assist to help beat Hungary 2-0 in a winner-takes-all showdown in Cardiff on Tuesday.
Before those appearances for his country, Bale had missed six straight matches for his club with Real Madrid saying he had a nagging calf injury.
If Bale is not in Zinedine Zidane’s squad for Saturday’s match against Real Sociedad the injury claim will be hard to sustain.
Speculation that Bale could re-join his former club Tottenham Hotspur intensified this week when Jose Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino as manager of Spurs.
