  • England have proved a lot of people wrong in the Six Nations and are on the brink of a “special” triumph in the tournament, according to former Three Lions centre Tom May.

With just two matches left to play, Eddie Jones’ men lead the Six Nations by six points having won all of their three matches so far, but Saturday’s opponents, Wales, are just one point behind in second.

And former Newcastle star May believes England deserve credit for the way they have got over the disappointment of their World Cup disaster on home soil so quickly with the relatively same group of players.

“It’s a massive game and I think if England can win that then they’ll go to Paris with a boat load of confidence thinking they can turn them over in the Stade de France and come away with a Grand Slam,” the 37-year-old told Sport360.com.

“Two months go, everyone was saying that if they win three games people will be happy but they are that close to doing something pretty special.”
