His team may be reigning champions of Europe but Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has declared Manchester City the best team in the world.
The 2018/19 Champions League winners prepare to start their title defence against Napoli at Stadio San Paolo on Tuesday, the two teams also met in the group stage a year ago.
Klopp said in relation to a question about Liverpool being the best side in Europe: “We can’t be the best team in Europe because Man City are the best team in the world, that’s the same planet, I heard.
“There are a lot of good teams out there, and you have to prove that constantly. Last year we were really good. I am not sure we were the best team in Europe but we were really good in the right moments.”
