Smackdown this week was very much about ramping up to Evolution for the women, and maturing some storylines for the men.

While the Charlotte and Becky angle continues to gather momentum, you can’t help but feel the Battle Royal at Evolution is going to be something of a bust – and the tease did nothing to quell those fears.

Elsewhere the AJ/Daniel Bryan build is a little predictable with effectively the same thing now for two weeks, Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton was pretty much the pick of the bunch, and it’s great top see Rey Mysterio back in action.

You can catch the top moments in the video above.

Roman Reigns kicked off RAW this week with the devastating news he is battle leukemia.

Introducing himself as Joe, his real name, the superstar told of how he had been in remission for more than a decade but the disease had returned.

To a stunned crowd he told of his love for the WWE and its fans and vowed to be back soon.

Choking up as the crowd burst into ‘thank you Roman’ chants, the Big Dog left his WWE Universal championship in the ring and was met by tearful Shield allies at the top of the ramp.

Get well soon, Roman.

Smackdown 1000 had plenty of hype – and with a lot of famous faces managed to live up to the billing.

The return of Evolution was a high point, especially the Batista/Triple H tease (please make this match for WrestleMania next year).

The pop for Vince McMahon was almost as good as his impromptu dance break with R-Truth and Carmella.

Becky Lynch continued to please the crowd, this time opposite Edge.

Rey Mysterio returned, AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan teamed up, Rusev got his hands on Aiden English – and a whole lot more.

The video about has the best of the action.
