Residents and athletes alike in the UAE will have the opportunity to take part in the nine-race GIANT Duathlon across a variety of venues in the country.
Spread over six months from October 2013 to April 2014, the series will offer its entrants the choice to compete over sprint, middle and Olympic distances depending on their fitness, ability and experience.
Age groups are in the ten-year bracket and the top 10 men and women will earn points that determine the Series Grand Prix placings at the end of the race series.
Each race takes on the run/bike/run format of the duathlon event and the distances are; Sprint Distance: Run 2.5km / Bike 20.0km / Run 2.5km. Middle Distance: Run 3.75km / Bike 30.0km / Run 3.75km. Olympic Distance: Run 5.0km / Bike 40.0km / Run 5.0km.
